Coming to a church near you: Summer preschool storytime!

With the help of the Wittenberg University Hagen Center and four Springfield churches, SCYM is launching into some new territory this summer: Church-based Preschool Storytimes.

Through Wittenberg’s Education Department, two enthusiastic interns will be rhyming, singing, cutting, clapping, and playing it up with preschoolers and their parents at four sites twice a week from June 22-July 24*:

High Street Church of the Nazarene, Mon/Wed 10-11am
Clifton Avenue Church of God, Mon/Wed 1-2pm (Wed @ Lincoln Elementary)
Fellowship Spring Hill, Tues/Thurs 1-2pm
St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Tues/Fri 9-10am
*morning sites will not meet the week of July 6-10

While the storytimes are targeted for kids ages 3-5, younger siblings are welcome to tag along, and there will even reading activities for older siblings.

If you’d like to support the preschool initiative, we could use kid scissors, glue sticks, and preschool-age books (see book drive info!) to name a few suggestions. You can donate straight to one of the church sites, or drop them off at the SCYM office between 8:30-4:00 on weekdays (1500 Broadway St., Springfield.)
