I had been praying for some of the Christian ministries in Springfield. When I retired twenty years ago, God told me that it was time to put my prayers into action, so I began to volunteer for some of those ministries. It was a joy from the beginning to be a part of sharing Jesus with children in the city. My husband and I had been a part of the support system for Springfield Christian Youth Ministries since its inception.
This summer I was privileged to be a lead teacher at Camp Boost Summer Reading Clubs at Clifton Avenue Church of God run by SCYM. What a joy to see many children come to learn of Jesus and spend time praising Jesus. It is important to give of one’s self for these ministries as well as financial support. Without volunteers the programs could not function effectively. I am grateful that God led me to put my prayers into action and be a volunteer in a number of Christian ministries. May I encourage you to also know this joy.
